Hello everyone, lets use this thred to introduce ourselves.
I’m Nate Bailey, I live in Southern Oregon and have a beautiful wife Misty, and three boys, Aaron,Gage, and Chase. I love to deer hunt, bear hunt, waterfowl hunt, and steelhead fish, but my passions are Barebow Elk Hunting in the Rutt and Swinging softhackles for monster trout. I am active in conservation as the TRCP ambassador for Oregon, and have been appointed the ODFW’s habitat and access committe.

I started the facebook group, Barebow Hunters and this site to expand the #barebowculture.
If you would like to contact me you can message me here and on just about anyother social outlet. Im looking foward to meeting all of you.

My Name is Jacob. I've been shooting and making bows since I was old enough to run out the backdoor into the woods. About 10 years ago I was lucky enough to stumble across a copy of the Traditional Bowyers Bible Vol 1 while hanging out in my Brother's woodshop, couldn't put the book down and fell in love with the simple elegant beauty of a stick with a string. I just moved out to the east of the Cincinnati Area to a place with a couple acres and room to build a real workshop. I love Traditional archery and the spirit of passing on the old ways. I have found the tradbow community quite welcoming and am really excited to see this site develop. My primary purpose in posting on here is in hopes that I can find someone who would be my mentor on my journey from being a bowyer and target shooter to a true hunter in the traditional Spot and Stalk style. As I mentioned I am east of Cincinnati but am certainly willing to travel to learn. I don't know if this is the place to be putting this out here but I figured I would give it a try and see what comes of it.
Nate thanks for giving us the opportunity to come a sit around the campfire together. :)
My name is Josh and I am from Oregon, currently in Roseburg. I come from a family of rifle hunters and trout fishermen. I got into archery when I was 16 when my Dad and I were looking for a new way to hunt elk. I have been out of the archery game for several years now, and I am trying to get back into it. I found and old recurve bow tucked into my Dad's closet and have been slowly trying to relearn what I am doing. That is how I stumbled on Nate's videos and this website. I hope to get my bow all set up in the next couple of months and I couldn't be more excited about shooting traditional.
Im albert im 28 from michigan.ive been an archer for a long time now. I shoot longbow and started traditional 4 months ago i have learned quickly using a fixed finger crawl, confident enough to go out turkey hunting this season now wish me luck ☺. Whitetail is my passion although i havent been elk hunting i would love to. Im addicted to everything traditional ive been learning constantly, glad to be a part of the trad community its been great. Thanks for the add in the website what you have been doing for the trad community is awesome :)
Hey, All!!
I'm live in Sandy, OR; originally from Oklahoma. Working on trying to become a decent shot with either my October Mountain Products 50# Ozark Hunter longbow, or a Jim Brackenbury Drifter Take Down Recurve, at 59#. I like makin' wooden arrows for the bows, and aluminum also. Never learned how to make carbons.
I'm old, but retired. :) Tryin' to learn how to make a selfbow, and attempting to build quivers. I hope to someday break my streak of not killing anything other than a possum with my bow next season.....
I might mention I've known Nate for a very long time. He, and his family are first rate folks!

I’m from Dawson Creek British Columbia. I shot compound as a kid/young adult but got away from it. Picked up a recurve back in November and hope to get out this fall. I live in one of those magic areas. We have moose, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, caribou if you look hard enough, bison, stone sheep and mountain goat if you want to drive for a bit, black and grizzly bear plus grouse and all sorts of stuff with pointy teeth. I’m hoping to get into a deer and maybe an elk or a moose if I am lucky. First time hunting in a long time and first with a bow so hopefully the stars will align in my favour. Hoping to get some info and chat with some like minded folks.
My name is Jim, I'm from south east Pennsylvanyia. Most of my hunting is archery deer and small game. I have recently gone back to the traditional bow because I miss the simplicity. Looking forward to meeting like minded folks, that can give advice and help . My dream is to oneday hunt elk and mule deer out west.
I think im your first member from Malaysia. Just started shooting barebow recurve. Been shooting compound for 4 years now. Love your vids on utube. Inspiring and informative! Keep it up!

I am from Southern Indiana where I was born and raised. I have hunted and fished all my life. My hunting experience consists of small game, whitetail, and turkey. I have been shooting compound from a young age and competed in a lot of national and state 3d events. I have always had a draw and a love for barebow but I never took the steps to switch. I have decided recently to go all in and I can say I do not see myself going back. The community that surrounds this culture is amazing.
Hey. My name is Lasse but called Lumber (Lumberjack.dk) I’m from Denmark 🇩🇰 I’m a hobbyist axe/knife maker and instructor/teacher in wildness/Bushcraft!
My passion is fishing, outdoor, spearfishing and Tradbow shooting/hunting.
Thanks a lot for the open and cool people in here - special thanks to Nate for bringing me over here.
Born and raised in WI but have lived in north central Iowa for about a decade now. Been doing the trad deal for a bit over a decade and have been building bows for about half that time. White tails were king until my first trip to WY five years ago and western hunting ya ruled ever since. Married with no kids, I split time between social work and being a bowyer.
I'm from Southeastern Washington State (you know, the Pacific Northwest, not DC). Have been hunting much of my life, mostly whitetail and pheasants. Felt like rifle hunting whitetail wasn't challenging enough so I got into archery. Compound of course. Found the learning curve steep there but have been reasonably successful recently so I guess I'm looking for the next challenge and have started to pick up bare bow recurve with the ultimate goal of hunting. Don't think I'm quite good enough to hunt yet, but I'm gaining facility and hope I might be able to chase some whitetails with my Rustic Archer Mongol next fall. A side effect of my compound archery hunting has been the discovery of hunting elk in the rut and I am totally addicted. Hope to do that bare bow as well someday. I'm eager to learn from and share knowledge with others who have similar interests.
We will try to keep the bickering at a minimum! welcome!
Currently living in the bustling metropolis of Whitehorse Yukon. Looking forward to seeing where this forum goes. I have been hesitant in the past to join these due to the trend towards bickering. I hope this one doesn't go the same direction.
